Wanted young dogs of any breed, to work in the area of scent detection.

Is your dog a fanatical ball chasing retriever? Does he or she want to drop the toy at your feet? Does your dog annoy you with a wet ball in the hand? Is your dog wound as tightly as a spring? If the answer is yes to any of these questions then we'd love to consider your dog for scent work. We look for dogs that exhibit an excessive compulsive manner, can you imagine finding a role in life where all you do all day is what drives you. We match our Detector Dog handlers and dogs  with similar personalities, and the dogs live with their handler in a family environment.

Detector Dogs Australia will accept donations from the private sector, we are always on the look out for potential K9 detection candidates. We offer acknowledgment certification plaques to K9 donors for animals which has successfully certified.  Although any breed can work, some of the more popular breeds used in scent detection are: Malinios, Labradors, Kelpies, Border Collies, German Short Haired pointers, English Pointers, Golden Retrievers, German Shepherds, Poodles, Beagles and the most popular one of all; Parentage unknown, the cross breed, we love them.
